These women have spent their entire lives in this farming village about two hours outside Kolkata. They are members of the Shautal tribe. Although they were sisters, they had never been photographed together before. This was their first photo.

They were drying rice in the sun when we asked to take their photograph.

Every day they work they get paid 100 rupees or about $1.50 a day and 2kg or about 4 and a half pounds of rice.
